Tom Kemper "quit-his-job-and-moved-to-Key West" before the book when Key West was just the town at the end of the road. He volunteered for local charities, worked at a museum and bought and sold Key West real estate and small businesses. He got a real estate license since his friends all thought he had one and were asking for advice. Once legal in the eyes of the State of Florida, Tom has been providing old friends and new ones with professional real estate services for both buyers and sellers. To use a few buzz words from his corporate past, Tom considers his real estate business model to be relationship based. Simply put, he wants to become comfortable with a customer's expectations and goals before asking for their business. His services don't end at the closing table, he keeps in touch and responds to out-town-calls to "please get my hurricane shutters put up" and "can you look in my mail box for my tax refund check?"
Tom Kemper has an MBA and has successfully invested in real estate since 1987. A career Navy officer, he went through the revolving door and became a "beltway bandit" in Washington DC until one morning when he surprised his boss and himself by taking off his necktie and giving notice. Two weeks later the furniture was consigned, the house under contract and Tom drove until the road ended in the Southernmost City. He went back to Washington several times to consult, but only on the condition that neckties weren't required.
Tom specializes in Old Town Key West where he lives in Bahama Village and owns a listed building. He is familiar with all Key West neighborhoods and represents clients throughout the lower Keysup to Big Pine.
He takes a careful and measured approach to real estate investments, an approach best suited to those who know what they want, who expect top service and who value discretion. Tom is technologically proficient, but provides old fashioned service.
Feel free to give Tom a call anytime. If you don't connect, he will call you back. Or write a letter if you'd rather do business the old fashioned way. Tom will respond with whatever information you require, even if he has to go to the courthouse and look it up.
